250 in 2011 (straight to the point) Movie Reviews

It would take up too much of my time to write full in-depth reviews about each and every film I watch during my film challenge so I shall attempt to sum each one up in around a sentence. I doubt this will get me a job writing for total film but at least we can all avoid pretentious movie reviewers and cut straight to the point. 172. Rock Star - I thought it was ok, which is unusual for a movie containing Jennifer Aniston. 6/10
173. Zodiac - Very LA Noire but a couple of decades later. I feel the need for more Downey Jr in my life. 7.5/10
174. Frozen - Like open water but 50 feet in the air on a frozen mountain with a man eating wolf pack. 5.5/10

186. Macgruber - It tries to parody crappy tv movies and it actually becomes one. I HATED this film. 1/10
187. SWAT: Firefight - Started out like an episode of a reality TV show and should have stayed there. Not even the T-1000 could save this little poo nugget. 4/10
188. The Killer Inside Me - Dark and disturbing. You have to have some vivid imagination to believe Jessica Alba is a cheap hooker though! 6/10
189. Gullivers Travels - I wish Jack Black would either go to acting school or fuck off. 4.5/10

224. Jonah Hex - About as entertaining as contracting gastric flu when you're down to your last loo roll. Only, without the drama. 2/10
225. Osmosis Jones - Better than expected, looking dated though. 5.5/10
226. New York, I Love You - Boring and pretentious. Just can't live up to Paris, Je t'aime. 4/10
227. The Imaginarium of Dr Parnasus - Typical Gilliam, strange but enjoyable. 6/10
228. Rumour Has It - I should learn not to watch films containing Jennifer Aniston. 3/10
229. Your Highness - Laugh out loud funny. Is what I'd be saying if this film had actually been funny, instead it was dire. 4/10
230. Calender Girls - Wonderfully British. You may have improper thoughts about a Dame though. 6.5/10
231. Jackass 3 - Really? You're still doing this shit? Aren't you like 40 now? 0.5/10
232. Splice - I do enjoy both Sci-fi, and Adrian Brody. His nose fascinates me. 6/10
233. Mars Needs Moms - Another, never more than adequate, animated movie. 5/10
234. Submarine - I felt it was great, in parts, and just tried too hard in others. 5.5/10
235. Vampires Suck - Not nearly as much as this movie did, though. 1/10
236. Rampage - Ah, Uwe Boll. His films are about as much fun as an outbreak of pubic lice in a nursing home. 2/10
237. Hall Pass - As bollocks as you might expect. Owen Wilson's nose is also a fascinating specimen. 5/10
238. Bottle Shock - Alan Rickman, Chris Pine, Bill Pullman and wine. Wouldn't that be a good night out. Movies okay too. 6/10
239. The Ice Harvest - Not what you'd expect from director, Ramis. Not the best John Cusack movie, but not the worst either. 5/10
240. Anuvahood - I had no idea this was a foreign language film, not a clue what it was about. 3/10
241. Four Christmases - There's just something unlikable about Vince Vaughn. Not only does he make poor movies, but I imagine he'd be an extremely selfish lover. 5/10
242. Attack the Block - Fantastic! Joe Cornish has a promising directorial career ahead. 8/10
243. The Green Lantern - I sure wish Reynolds had stayed buried in that fucking box. 4/10
244. Bridesmaids - Brilliant! There should be more films about women actually written by women. 9/10
245. Fast & Furious 5 - After the first movie this is the best in the franchise. This is of course like winning second best turd in the elephant house. 5.5/10
246. The Girl in the Cafe - Wonderful, yet sad. A must for those who like to laugh, cry and cringe. 8/10
247. The Beaver - You could be forgiven for thinking this is a fly on the wall documentary about Gibson. I really liked this film but it just mises the mark in places. 7/10
248. The Adjustment Bureau - Beware men in hats! 7.5/10
249. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows - I do love this Sherlock series, and it would get higher marks if it weren't for Moffat's far superior Holmes stories. 7.5/10
250. Sabrina - Old man wins the heart of a young woman. A classic to end the challenge. 8/10
